During an interview on ABC’s This Week on Sunday, former Secretary of State Colin Powell blames the media and the extreme left and right for the political climate on Capitol Hill. “The media loves this game where everyone is on the extreme – it makes for great TV,” said Powell.
“What we have to do is to take some of the heat out of our political life in terms of the coverage of it, so these folks can get to work quietly.”
When asked what he though about “the fact” that the Tea Party says “compromise is a dirty word,” Powell indicated agreement and said that the Tea Party point of view “of no compromise whatsoever” is “not a point of view that will eventually produce a presidential candidate who will win.”
